This morning, the light of day revealed a surprising sight. We live near the top of a hill, and parked across the road further up the hill was a car with its back window missing, plus a rather significant dent in its rear. Further investigation showed a substantial collection of glass around the base of a tree on the footpath in front of our (downhill) neighbour's home. (By the time I got around to taking a picture, our neighbour had cleared away many of the larger pieces of glass.)
We can only surmise that someone forgot to put their parking brake on. Oops! No idea when the car was moved from its crash site, but there it has sat, atop the hill, all day.
Incidentally, I declare the tree clear winner in this little stoush!

Doesn't it give you pause to think about what could go on outside your home that you isolate yourself from?...
It makes my recent attack-on-the-light-pole-opposite-my-driveway look quite mild. I continue to assert that I was the victim of a narrow street, poor post-placement and that, given how blind I am, it's a marvel that it took me nearly two years to do it! :-)

Pickwick, it's quite amazing to think that unbeknownst to all of us in the street a car went rolling down the road and into a tree. Pity it didn't happen in broad daylight so we could have pointed and laughed.
Incidentally, what kind of idiot council places a light pole opposite someone's driveway?! I hope you had the council pay for the damage to your vehicle! :-)
