ARRHAHAhahahaheheeehoohohoaha!* Why can't web browsers be compatible?! Why must something work in one browser and not another? Why must they make it so hard on web designers everywhere?

Trying to do something spiffy for a friend's website, using the z-index property, and I need to use the value of -1 for it to work in Internet Explorer, which renders it INVISIBLE in Netscape. Whereas, if I use the value of 0 it works in Netscape, but is INVISIBLE in Internet Explorer. ARRHAHAhahahaheheeehoohohoaha!*
